John Hsu’s VR project Your Spiritual Temple Sucks screened at Sydney Film Festival 2018. He returns with his first feature, Detention, based on a game of the same title. Detention garnered praise at various international film festivals and took home awards at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.

The story takes viewers back to 1962 when the Taiwanese government declared martial law, banning political literature amongst other things. Amidst the tense climate, members of an underground school book club start to disappear. One must fight to survive and tell the story – but who gets to live in the end?

由徐漢強執導的首部劇情長片《返校》，不但榮獲金馬五項大獎，更創下全台2.6億票房佳績！可謂是2019年國片的票房冠軍！細膩的音樂設計與傑出的美術團隊，成功地營造出白色恐怖的時代氛圍。故事主題將歷史事件融合驚悚題材，把敏感的議題以懸疑鬼怪的方式處理，卻更能烘托出這時代背景下的知識份子們，如何為了追求自由的信念，壯烈犧牲得義無反顧。
