By the award-winning composer Lu Luming (Detention, Xiao Mei) and cinematography by Chen Chi-Wen (Sen Sen, The Island That All Flow By), Director Ko's debut feature is a daunting thriller that will grasp viewers’ attention from the beginning to end.
A deaf boy is transferred to a school that can communicate through sign language, where the peaceful silence turns into a terrifying gimmick. Slowly, he discovers the safe haven is just an illusion, as the whole school is filled with violent abuse and corruption. Based on an actual event in 2009 in Taiwan, more than 100 students were victims of sexual abuse within a school.
導演柯貞年的首部劇情長片，入圍並獲得多項國際大獎，請來金馬最佳原創歌曲的配樂師盧律銘，與拍攝多項佳作如《生生》和《川流之島》的攝影師陳麒文。融合2009年案件數高達三百多的真實事件，年齡從國小二年級到高三，在道德界線的邊邊角角，分分秒秒考驗觀眾。
少年張誠 (劉子銓 飾）因失聰，將轉學到一所透過手語溝通的學校。以為來到終於可以安穩的地方，豈料日子卻是，一個接一個的暗無天日，甚至連他喜歡上的女同學貝貝（陳姸霏 飾）也難逃毒手。陰暗角落與喑啞並不絕望，絕望的是攤在日光之下，有力發聲的人卻不見不聞。
